To All Nevada Local Governments:

The 2018 Proposed Revisions to the Local Government Record Retention Schedules found in the Local Government Records Management Program Manual are posted on our website for Review and Comment. 

These proposed revisions include new retention schedules to be added to the “Manual” as well as modifications and proposed deletions to currently approved retention schedules.

Please pass this information on to others in your organization who may wish to participate in the review and comment process. 

Comments pertaining to the 2018 revisions must be addressed in writing to the Nevada State Library and Archives-State Records Program, Attn: Jerry Lindsay, 100 N Stewart Street, Carson City NV. 89701-4285, Emailed to glindsay@admin.nv.gov or faxed to 775-684-3426.

The Deadline for submitting comments is Friday October 12, 2018 at 5:00pm. Please provide contact information when submitting comments. 

Following this review and comment period, State Records staff will make any necessary changes and in accordance with NAC 239.161 submit the revised Local Government Records Management Program Manual to the State Library, Archives and Public Records Administrator for formal approval.

Once approved State Records will post the 2018 Local Government Records Management Program Manual including the revised Records Retention Schedules on our agency webpage. The 2018 “Manual” will supersede all previous versions.
